UK housing market held up during the summer months

The latest gross lending figures for August released from the Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML) are not unexpected.

They follow the seasonal trend where the housing market is understandably quieter during the summer months- August always sees a dip in activity as people are mostly on holiday.

The CML statement suggests that lending on house purchase as opposed to remortgages has increased- something our own figures from the latest housing market report echo.

If you look at the number of people looking for houses, the number of houses available and the number of sales agents, you will see that there has been a steady improvement in the housing market over this time.
