Description
A Recently Refurbished Manse in a Grade II Listed Development in the Heart of the Market Town of Bromyard
Large Kitchen/Dining/Sitting Room - Cloakroom - Cellar - Four Double Bedrooms, Two with En-Suites - Bathroom - Exclusive and Communal Use Grounds and Parking
The Manse is one of just six properties on a Grade II Listed site, refurbished as part of a preservation scheme close to the centre of Bromyard. The buildings include a former chapel, constructed in the early 18th century, a former Victorian jail-house, a former manse, a former school-house and two new town-houses within the curtilage of the original buildings. All amenities in Bromyard are within easy striking distance of the property: a wide range of shops, primary and secondary schools, hospital, vets, library and churches. Bromyard is also within easy commuting distance of the cathedral cities of Worcester and Hereford, approximately 14 miles away and Birmingham is just 45 miles away. Excellent rail links are available from both Worcester and Hereford and the motorway network can also be accessed at Worcester.
Forbury Chase is approached from Sherford Street via the driveway into the gravelled parking area for the six properties. The properties share use of the communal gardens, including lawned areas and a gravelled square in front of The Manse where four young espaliered hornbeam trees will provide increasing interest and colour over the years. The rear door also leads out to a small lawned area behind the Manse.

From the offices of Hayes, head to the Top Cross and turn left. Proceed through Ledbury, and take the B4214 under the railway bridge towards Bromyard. After approximately 11 miles, bear right onto the A465 for just over half a mile, then turn right onto the A44 towards Worcester. Proceed down the hill for approximately half a mile and turn left at the bottom of the hill, just after the petrol station, onto the B4203, Sherford Street. Forbury Chase is on the right hand side.
The Manse has been recently refurbished to a high standard and now offers a delightful family home, full of original beams and timbers. The front door leads in to the open-plan ground floor room, with kitchen to the left and dining and sitting areas to the right. The kitchen work-surfaces and the island are granite-topped and there is a wealth of appliances: Whirlpool oven, five-ring gas hob, tall fridge-freezer, washer-dryer and dish-washer. The dining and sitting areas have exposed stone-work and a Bosca wood-burning stove set into the inglenook fireplace. The front window overlooks the gravelled square and beyond and there is a glazed door out to the side of the property offering views up to the Bromyard Downs. A glazed door also leads to the inner hallways and charming stairwell, replete with exposed beams and timbers. The cloakroom and cellar are accessed from the hall. There are two double bedrooms, both with en-suite bathrooms to the first floor. Both bedrooms have large sash windows to the front elevation and the master bedroom enjoys further views of the Downs from the end window. To the second floor, up in the eaves, head-height is restricted on part of the landing and into the fourth bedroom. There are two double bedrooms on this floor, which share the use of the family bathroom. The third bedroom features a wonderful, exposed A-frame and fine views across the countryside.
