How does this help me when buying or renting?
Peace of mind that you are dealing with a professional.
Our members have an industry recognised qualification and are required to carry out at least a minimum level of Continuous Professional Development each year. This ensures their knowledge and skills are always up to date in order to provide you with an unrivalled level of service.
Increased financial security.
Part of the application process for our members involves them demonstrating that their client accounts are in order. They do this by providing us with an accountants report to give us an insight into how their business operates, and whether it handles client money appropriately.
Agents that hold your money at any stage require a special type of insurance that give us the ability to compensate you (up to pre-set limits) if you suffer financial loss due to the misappropriation of money by our members.
All of our members have Professional Indemnity Insurance. This ensures you are financially covered for successful claims relating to any negligence committed by an agent, bad advice or mishandling of personal data.
A route to redress, should things go wrong
It is a mandatory requirement that all our members belong to an independent redress scheme, the choice being either the Ombudsman Services:Property or the Propertry Ombudsman Service. As a consumer, this gives you an added level of protection with the Propertry Ombudsman Service able to make financial awards of up to £25,000.
